Resident Letter - Bottoms Neighborhood

This work is part of DrivingChange, the voter-approved Sheridan Bond Improvements Program to enhance our community through a series of reconstruction projects addressing street, sidewalk, drainage and stormwater issues.

Utility Relocations

Before construction begins, Xcel Energy is relocating some utilities in your neighborhood. Xcel Energy will contact impacted businesses and residents directly. If you have any questions, you can call them at (800) 895-4999.

South Platte River Drive Closure

Beginning January 30, South Platte River Drive will be closed between Hamilton and Girard for the next two months for drainage work.

  • Motorists will be detoured over Hamilton Bridge and Dartmouth Avenue. North of the closure to Dartmouth, access will be open to local traffic only.
  • A right turn only will be implemented at Girard heading south on South Platte River Drive.

Partial Closure of South Platte River Trail Necessary for Construction

Beginning January 30, the South Platte River Trail will be closed from Dartmouth to South of the Hamilton Bridge until late March.

  • Cyclists will be detoured around on Hamilton Bridge and the pedestrian bridge on Dry Creek Trail.
  • Share the road signs will be posted to ensure motorists are aware of increased bike traffic.

Please recognize there will be inconveniences including lane restrictions, reduced speeds, potential increased dust/dirt and detour routes as necessary. We urge you to use caution due to the presence of workers and large moving equipment.

It may also be necessary to implement parking restrictions when pouring curb and gutter in front of homes or businesses, but advanced notice will be given to residents prior to the activity.

The City will keep the community informed about each of the construction projects and impacts, but also be sure to keep up to date by signing-up for project e-newsletters and weekly construction alerts by sending an email to drivingchange@ci.sheridan.co.us, calling the Program Informational Hotline at 303-438-3322, or visiting the project website at www.ci.sheridan.co.us.

Sincerely,
Randy Mourning
